De FilmHallen is a movie theater located behind the Ten Kate market. It is a relatively new cinema in Amsterdam housed as it was opened in 2014 and is housed in a former tram depot. Movies can be watched in its 9 rooms. It is a fairly large cinema with 800 chairs, but not as large as some others on this list. It’s open every day of the week so you can always drop by to watch a nice flick. Room 7 is especially interesting as it has a nice art-deco interior with accents dating back to 1924 and coming from the old Cinema Parisien. De FilmHallen exhibits popular hollywood films alongside arthouse films, documentaries and of course the ever popular family films. They also often participate in film festivals. Next to De FilmHallen you can find De FoodHallen, where you can eat a snack, or have dinner before or after the movie.
Location: Hannie Dankbaarpassage 12, 1053 RT Amsterdam
