A travel guide to the best places to visit

San Antonio Fire Museum

If you want to learn more about everyone’s favorite heroes, then you can visit the San Antonio Fire Museum. This museum tells the story of the firefighting of San Antonio.

The historical vehicles that the fire department has used over the centuries are quite fascinating to see and can be enjoyed by both adults and children. You’ll learn how the fire trucks and equipment developed over the years, and how people in the old days had to put out fire without the modern technology we have today. Seeing all the historical photos, helmets, antique gear and memorabilia you can’t help but to imagine what it must’ve been like for the firefighters of the past.

The museum is run by passionate volunteers, and a visit is surprisingly affordable. As the museum is right around the corner of the Alamo, it can also easily be combined with a visit to the Alamo. So when you are in the area, you might as well check it out. Especially if you have kids the Fire Museum is a pleasant surprise.
